EPUC LA: Entrepreneur Pathway for Urban Communities

A ten-month pathway for neighborhood entrepreneurs.

EPUC LA is CSUDH's chapter of the Entrepreneur Pathway for Urban Communities, launched by the University of Notre Dame in 2020 as part of its Urban Poverty and Business Initiative. CSUDH was the seventh chapter to launch. Local entrepreneurs get a bootcamp, ongoing training, mentoring, and one-on-one consulting.

How it works

  1. 1

    Bootcamp

    A multi-week Saturday bootcamp on business fundamentals. Dates for the next session will be announced.

  2. 2

    Train and get mentored

    Monthly specialty trainings, mentoring from local professionals, and 14 weeks of one-on-one consulting.

  3. 3

    Grow

    Networking events and microcredit preparation, with three years of follow-up on 40 key measures.

Who it's for
Entrepreneurs in Compton and surrounding urban communities who are starting or growing a small business.
Microloans
An interest-free revolving loan pool with the Jewish Free Loan Association (CSUDH's $25,000 matched). Loans start up to $2,500, with larger loans up to $35,000. An orientation at the Incubator is required.
Network
Part of Notre Dame's Urban Poverty and Business Initiative.
